Ski                                                                                                 

The Dobbiaco ski slopes belong to the Dolomiti Superski disctrict and is a good choice to practice ability not only for beginners but also for experts.

The Alta Pusteria ski region. Characterized by the uniqueness and magical szenario of the Dolomites and the unpolluted nature. Near the famous peaks of the Dolomites, the valley from sesto to Braies is dominated by one of the biggest natural meridian: nein peak, ten peak, eleven, twelve and one.

Nordic Ski                                                                                    

Dobbiaco is recognized expecially for being one of the most international famous centre for the cross country ski. 120 km of slopes hostes competitions such as the Worldcup (stage of the Tour de ski) and famous marathon like:

>  Dobbiaco - Cortina: nordic ski race with a track of 42 km. The first race has taken place in 1977 following the trace route of the ex- railwaythat links up this two towns. This route is open also for the non competition lovers.

>  Pustertaler ski marathon: 

- skating race from Dobbiaco to Sesto is long 42 km

- classic race from Dobbiaco to Braies is long 28 km

From 2010 also the new cross country ski stadium will be opened and will become one of the most important european centre for the nordic ski.

Ice                                                                                                

Dobbiaco boast also a long ice-hockey tradition that makes the town competitive under an international and european point of view and ice skating. Skating in the ice stadium surrounded by the mountains is an unrepeatable experience.

Events                                                                                          

On the other hand if you prefer a calm and quite way of spending your vacation in each season you can seat confortable on a cable way or on a chair lift admiring the unique and beautiful landscape of the mountains.

For your kids but also for you the Dolomiti Baloonfestival, that takes place in january is an enjoyment event rich of amazing images and colours. It is a baloon competition between more than 30 teams coming from all Europe.
