Gustav Mahler Music Weeks
There is no doubt that the principal cultural event of Dobbiaco are the "Gustav Mahler music weeks". The world famous Austro-Hungarian composer loved these places and spent there many summers together with his beleved wife Alma.
Just between these mountains found the inspiration to compose the Ninth Symphony (rimained unfinisched) and the notorious Lied von der Erde.
In remembrance to the love that the composer had for these places every year Dobbiaco celebrates the "Gustav Mahler Music Weeks", that since thirty year has been one of the most important appointment for the lovers of classical music.
